Release
Release
The focus word for today is ‘Release.’ There is fresh anointing and thrust from the Holy Spirit. Every day, it is glorious. His mercies are new every morning. Declare ‘RELEASE!’
Isaiah 61.1 says, ‘The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.’
The declaration states every bondage is broken today. I’m released into freedom by the Spirit of the Lord. Refer to the Bible reading plan and read it today itself.
A few facts about RELEASE…
1. Release is God’s redemptive intention.
It is God’s intention to release all those who are in bondage through his redemption plan. Release is included in redemption. The verse, ‘The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the Lord has anointed me –
i. to proclaim good news to the poor.
This is the first good news by Jesus in His good news to the poor. The primary focus of Jesus’ anointing was the poor people in this world. This covers both financial and spiritual poverty. Jesus’ ministry and anointing focused on both aspects.
ii. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted
Just as a band aid/dressing heals a wound, so too the anointing on Jesus heals the inner most wounds of the heart. He has sent me to bind the broken hearted.
iii. to proclaim freedom for the captives and
iv. release from darkness for the prisoners.
In other words, RELEASE is not an afterthought in God’s plan. It is central to redemption. Jesus announced His mission as one of freedom, healing and deliverance – popularly known as the Jesus Manifesto (Nazareth Manifesto)
In the initial days of Jesus’ ministry, He didn’t heal nor preach the Word of God; He didn’t release those in captivity. His first action was to release His manifesto. But unlike political parties, He was not appointed by man but was chosen by God. In the anointing, He firstly declared that the Lord anointed Him to declare that He had come to speak the Good News to the poor, to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim freedom to the captives and to release those in darkness.
So wherever God’s kingdom advances, captivity must give way. A doctor does not visit a hospital to admire sickness but to remove it. In the same way, Christ came not to observe bondage, captivity etc. or collect statistical data to report to God but to break it.
2. Release comes through the anointing of the Spirit.
Luke 4.18 & 19 reads, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free……”
Freedom is not produced by human effort but by divine empowerment. It is not through man’s efforts to break chains. Isaiah 10.27 speaks that because of the anointing oil, the yoke shall be destroyed. The anointing breaks yokes that strength, wealth, education or willpower cannot break. One cannot open a huge iron door by pushing it or exerting pressure. However it opens with a simple key. Similarly, no matter how difficult or thick a situation is, the key to open it is anointing. There isn’t any effort required in receiving the anointing from the Holy Spirit. Powerful dynamites are not required; all it needs is a small key to open.
You may have been going through ages of poverty, curses – one after the other; be it in sickness, business etc. You smell curses everywhere in your home. Marriage is not happening. Even if it happens, it ends in a divorce. Too many traumatic troubles in the family for generations. If God’s anointing manifests into the situation or an anointed man of God comes; it would be just like inserting a key to gain release.
3. Release often begins in the mind.
We had done a series – Inside/Out in Morning Glory during the Covid. God works from inside out and not the other way round. Freedom comes from the inside and not from the outside and it starts in the mind.
Romans 12.2 says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
The change has to happen in the mind. Many people are physically free but mentally bound. People find it difficult to grasp freedom because they are not physically captive. People are internally bound, in their thoughts and memories, absolutely no outward indication; very glamourous, but bound internally in mental turmoil. They have to accept the fact that they are bound internally and need a release.
Saul who later became Paul was seemingly free. He imprisoned and persecuted many. But in his mind, he was a prisoner of religion, traditions, bound in false beliefs. Jesus in His glory came in broad daylight to release Saul who later became a blessing to the world, to the generations and to the churches.
So there are many bondages of which one is of the mind.
It is easier to understand how elephants in the circus are trained from infancy and travel all over the world but are chained to a peg. The elephants do not move beyond the set circle/perimeter because they are trained do so. They are trained into thinking – I’m not allowed to go beyond the circle. It is the same even if it grown into a huge tusker capable of pulling down the circus tent. Because of its training, it believes it cannot do more than what it has been trained to do. But when realisation strikes, all intimidation by the mahout fails, realising its strength, the elephant runs amok. It came into realisation, into power. Similarly, we too from childhood think that we can’t do things, we can’t come out of situations, until we transform our minds in Christ. The realisation of - Who I am in Christ! What I can do in Christ! What I have in Christ! To release my resources, my armoury …. Then and only then, can we reject the bondages and become free.
4. Release requires a response of faith and obedience.
Exodus 14.15 “Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on.” The Egyptian army led by the Pharaoh were pursuing the Israelites. The Israelites were crying and so too Moses to God for help. God asked them to move forward to the Red Sea. It was not sensible and the Israelites argued that what Moses heard was wrong; not from God. God was watching and He knew the situation very well.
We need to understand that when God asks to go and we need to step out in faith. The Israelites immediately packed up and prepared to move. That night, the Lord sent a strong East wind to make the land dry and a road for the people to cross. The steps of faith opened the way to move forward. They did not take a step after the clearing was made but before the way was made.
STEPS OF FAITH PAVES THE WAY FOR RELEASE!
Luke 17.14 reads, “When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.” The lepers were healed when they went on their way and not when they were with Jesus. They were healed as they proceeded to the temple. They believed in Jesus and stepped out in faith and on the way, the healing happened. This has happened many a time at the healing encounters. Healing may not be visible/felt at the meeting but it happens on the way. The healed then have second thoughts –could have testified at the meeting.
5. Release leads to responsibility and testimony
Luke 8.38 & 39 reads, “The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, “Return home and tell how much God has done for you.” So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him.”
He testified all over town. Ps. 107.2 reads, “Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story - those he redeemed from the hand of the foe, (in alternate translation… say so) Your testimony is very important! In Blessing Today, we train members to say a testimony in 3 minutes. How one was saved and born again. It can be a testimony of healing, De-addiction, from darkness to light, breaking of yokes or addictions, financial deliverance.
Speak your testimony!
Because a testimony of a child of God is a powerful weapon. Even if you have to repeatedly say your testimony, it is still powerful. A sword after multiple uses may be blunt but only if you use it will it cut. It’s a weapon!
Consider somebody who has been imprisoned overseas and returns after their release. The media pesters them with questions about their release. Once released, they do not stay silent. They go around narrating their experience to the entire world. Nowadays its easily done through social media like Instagram, Facebook, YouTube etc. Similarly speak of your release, deliverance testimony.
I pray that all who are released speak their story…. be blessed!
I feel the anointing. Get ready to share your testimony!
