Personal Vision For Life
Yesterday we saw the importance of having a vision for the church. The next important vision one needs to have is the personal vision for life. This is a vision that is extremely important and most of the time ignored by many.
God has given vision to everything that moves. He has not given vision to plants, trees, grass, mountains, etc. The ophthalmologists refer to our ability to see as ‘our vision’. But this is not the real vision according to God. Without this vision, there is no inspiration or motivation or enthusiasm to keep living. And this vision will be given by God to the children of God.
Vision gives you direction!
Visions can change the course of your ministry and your life and the whole world. Let’s look at a story in the Bible in 2 Kings - In the house of a great army commander, there was a young servant girl. This girl helped the wife of the army commander in household tasks like cooking and cleaning. The commander's name was Naaman. He was a man of valour, he had fought in many battles for his king and achieved many stars which showed his accomplishments and honours. Even though he was fearsome in his army uniform, beneath all of it, he was suffering from a skin disease called leprosy. And this maid was praying to God for this commander’s healing.
One day while praying, she felt the urge to go tell the wife about the prophet from Israel known for his healing ministry. The commander travelled to visit Elisha with plenty of gifts, and upon reaching, Elisha did not even go out to see him, rather just told him to go dip 7 times in the Jordan River. This enraged the commander because Elisha spoke to him through his disciple and did not even step out to greet him! But those with the commander convinced him to follow the instructions Elisha shared.
Following the instructions, the commander got out of the river with a completely renewed body like that of a young man! He received complete healing! This was all because of the nameless young girl who was serving in the kitchen who had faith in God and his miracles! She not only touched the commander but she touched the world!
You can touch the world from inside your own home!
Have a vision for your life, God will definitely touch you. Remain in prayer and meditation and spend hours with God. You will be used mightily!
God can use anybody!
It is through small acts of faith that big results come. It does not matter if you are famous or if no one knows. Even sharing a small message over text to people, will result in big changes.
There was a group of people doing studies on survivors of the Nazi concentration camp in Germany. They wanted to assess which category of people survived. If it was on the basis of strength, gender, age, etc. They came across a man who had survived and upon interviewing him about the factors on how he survived, the man told them “the single most significant factor was the sense of future vision, that is, some important work left to do”.
