acceleration
acceleration
Focus Word: acceleration
Verse: Amos 9:13 “The reaper will be overtaken by the plowman and the planter by the one treading grapes.”
Declaration: What took years will happen in days; supernatural speed propels my destiny.
Acceleration is a word in the realm of physics. It means increasing speed.
Amos 9:13 is based on an agricultural example. Usually, we plough the field, plant the seeds, tread the grapes, and then reap the harvest. There is a waiting period between the processes. But this verse talks about an unusual situation where the reaper will be overtaken by the next process for the next season! While the reaper reaps, plower ploughs! Seasons are overlapping here. This means the acceleration of God’s blessing is going to hit our life.
What normally takes years, will happen quickly. It is like Aaron’s staff that blossomed in one night, something that happens over the years. There will be abundance without interruption. God compresses some seasons for things to take place quickly.
Things you prayed about for years, happening all of a sudden: this is divine acceleration, sudden harvest from years of sowing.

- Acceleration is a supernatural act of God. God compresses seasons when He wants to move things swiftly. When the disciples were on the boat, Jesus walked on water, got in the boat, and they quickly reached land- this was divine acceleration. It’s like fast forwarding a video: the story doesn’t change, but it goes much faster. God can fast forward things in your life.
- Acceleration happens when seasons overlap. Imagine sowing and reaping at the same time- The ploughman meets the reaper and the Planter meets the treader of grapes. God removes waiting gaps between effort and reward.
- Acceleration is a reward for faithfulness. Galatians 6:9 “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” When you are faithful, things can change all of sudden. Sometimes the waiting period is long and you feel stuck. But if we don’t give up, in the right moment everything will quickly change with divine acceleration. Psalm 126:5,6 “Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves.” In the catchment area of a dam, all the water gathers together. One day when it is opened, the water breaks and bursts forward with great strength and speed. This is what divine acceleration looks like.
- Acceleration requires readiness and capacity. We must be ready to receive God’s blessings and increase our capacity to receive. Isaiah 60:22 “The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. I am the LORD; in its time I will do this swiftly.” Luke 16:10 “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.” Sudden increase can overwhelm the unprepared and makes us helpless. God accelerates those who have proven their faithfulness in small things. If you pour into a small cup, it will overflow. But a big jug can hold everything. If you are prepared and have created the capacity to hold God’s blessings, you can enjoy it.
- Acceleration brings abundance with purpose. Amos 9:14,15 and I will bring my people Israel back from exile.“They will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them.
They will plant vineyards and drink their wine;
they will make gardens and eat their fruit. 15 I will plant Israel in their own land never again to be uprooted
from the land I have given them,” says the Lord your God.
