ANSWERED PRAYER
ANSWERED PRAYER
FOCUS WORD: ANSWERED PRAYER
VERSE: 65: 24 - “Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.”
DECLARATION: Heaven is responding to my prayers today. Divine answers manifest speedily.
Matt. 24: 34 - Heaven and earth may pass away, but my word will remain true.
There will be answers to your prayers, which are according to the will of God.
God is One who answers before we ask: Answered prayer begins in God’s foreknowledge. There is knowledge and then there is foreknowledge. God knows everything that is going to happen in our lives and on the earth, ages and ages beforehand. God knows our needs before we voice them. We may tend to think - is there need for prayer in such a situation? Yes, because prayer is not just voicing our needs, but also a fellowship with God. God has already been working on them even before our prayer is fully formed. Illustration: A housewife begins her chores in the kitchen in the early hours of the day before anyone is up. She knows that within a few hours her husband and children will call out asking for breakfast. She does not wait till the last moment to prepare the food. Sometimes, the breakfast needs a dough or batter to be prepared the evening before because it requires fermentation. So she is well-prepared beforehand. Similarly, God has foreknowledge of all our requirements: whether it be education, profession, marriage, etc. We need to trust in the Lord that He will fulfill our promises at the appointed time. We need to wait upon the Lord and put our faith completely in Him. Our faith determines our circumstances.
Answered prayer flows from relationship not ritual: Our prayer should be from the heart, from our relationship with the Lord, not mechanical or ritualistic.
John 15: 7 - “If you remain in Me,and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”
Do not see God as someone who will simply supply your shopping list or grant you the required finances, but as a loving Father we want to abide in. Prayer is powerful when it flows from abiding. Intimacy determines accuracy in prayer. This will train us to resist asking unnecessary things of God, that which are not according to His will.
Psalm 37: 4 - Take delight in the Lord and He will fulfill the desires of your heart.
As our heart aligns with God, our prayers too align with His will.
Faith positions answers for prayers: Mark 11: 24 - Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, then it will be done.
Hebrews 11: 6 - And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him.
A farmer sows seeds expecting a harvest in the future. Prayer without faith is similar to sowing without expecting a harvest. Many people tend to pray methodically as a way of life rather than meaningfully, to develop a relationship with God.
Delays do not mean denial: It only means that a greater blessing is on the way. Building a small hut takes only a day, but constructing a palace may take ten years or more. If you want good things in life you need to wait patiently for the maturing, constructing period. It’s a work in progress. Imagine a situation when we submit a parcel at the post office or courier service. The parcel is dispatched immediately, but there is a delay at the receiver’s end(for delivery). Delay is often logistical, not relational.
Daniel 10: 12 - Then He said to me, “ Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words.”
Some answers come quickly, some answers are delayed for everyone’s good. Heaven hears immediately, even when answers arrive much later at His appointed time.
Luke 18: 7 - And will not God bring about justice for His chosen ones who cry out to Him day and night.
Standing resolute during this delay in receiving answers to our prayer is called ‘FAITH’.
Answered prayer glorifies God and strengthens faith: John 14: 13 - “Whatever you ask in My name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”
1 John 5: 14 - And this is the confidence that we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will He hears us.
15 - And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of Him.
Answered prayer builds a testimony. It builds our faith and confidence - the end result being the worship of the Almighty Father. Every answered prayer becomes a memorial stone. It becomes a souvenir reminding us that our God who answered our prayer at one time will do so again. He is FAITHFUL!!!
God bless you all!
