The Holy Spirit Invasion
A Christian life without the Holy Spirit is impossible. But the truth is many lead a Christian life without the presence of Christ or the Holy Spirit. They live in a sense of religious rituals. However we need the Holy Spirit to live the life of a true Christian. We are reborn or baptised as adults in the Spirit and through the Water. It is only when the scriptures and the Spirit seeps in us, are we reborn in Christ through the holy water baptism. A Christian life without the presence or the infilling of the Holy Spirit is in fact not a Christian life at all.
Charles Spurgeon once said “Without the Spirit of God we can do nothing. We are as ships without wind or chariots without steeds. Like branches without sap, we are withered. Like coals without fire, we are useless. As an offering without the sacrificial flame, we are unaccepted.”
A.W Tozer’s quote also adds a layer to Spurgeon’s thinking when he says “If the Holy Spirit was withdrawn from the church today, 95 percent of what we do would go on and no one would know the difference. If the Holy Spirit had been withdrawn from the New Testament church, 95 percent of what they did would stop, and everybody would know the difference.”
These men of God are trying to reiterate the importance of the Holy Spirit and the power brought forth with it. Even today in many parts of the world including India, churches tend to follow an established pattern of running a church without seeking the guidance of the Spirit. In such cases, the worship session might be thrilling and the message encouraging, but it may lack the presence of the Spirit as the elders of the church have not seeked or waited on the Lord for such guidance. If this can happen in a church setting, imagine how careful we have to be, to seek the Holy Spirit and lead a life that’s worthy and infilled with divine guidance.
God created man as a spirit man. God has created us in his own image.
Genesis 1:26 says, ‘Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
When God created Adam he breathed his Spirit into him, a man made out of mud and clay. Hence, creating the spirit, soul and body of man. Originally when man was created by God, he was a spirit man is his own reflection and since man was created in God's image, man was a spirit as God is a Spirit.

John 4:24 says, “‘God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
I often think to myself, over 40 years ago, the words I used. The statements I said out loud, changed my life forever. When I said out loud that ‘Jesus is my saviour and Lord’ I was saved and since then my life changed. Many of you may not be at a 100% commitment with Jesus. Today is the day to change that.
