How To Make A Level Ground To Go Forward
Radical faith will give us radical results.
Jesus and His disciples did not cut off the fig tree with an axe but Jesus spoke the word and after that the tree dried up. After the tree had dried up, Jesus said to the disciples, similarly, in faith if you command the mountain in front of you to move, it will move. Jesus told His disciples to command, not pray but to command.
Saying faith is greater than praying faith. Instead of crying and praying, we must get up in faith and command the rock to split, the Red sea to split, the mountain to move. Faith can talk to anyone and anything in any situation. Jesus spoke to a tree. We might wonder if a tree will obey, but it did obey Jesus.
When we use the authority given by God and command things, even if we don't see immediate results, it will start drying up from the root slowly and steadily till it is eventually visible on the outside and completely and forever dried out and cleared from our lives. When Jesus saw that the fig tree had dried up, He told His disciples that even if a mountain stood before them, if they commanded the mountain to move, it would move.
There are many mountains in the world and we have not heard of Jesus or the disciples moving a single mountain. Mountains are cut through to make roads and tunnels, but we have not seen a mountain being moved out of place. The Jews used the term ‘move mountains’ to denote an impossible task. Several things in front of us that seem impossible, will move when we speak in the name of Jesus, not when we pray but when we command it to move in God’s name.
E.g. David and Goliath. Goliath challenged the Israelites for forty days. David did not go and cry or plead in front of Goliath to spare him. Instead, he came forward in faith and boldness. He did not go against Goliath with sword and shield but in the name of the God of Israel. He first proclaimed his faith and then aimed at Goliath’s head with a pebble and a sling and killed him. All of this has been written in the Bible so that we can learn and do likewise. We are not meant to look at our problems and cry, rather we must speak up against it.
Babies cry for all their needs. Be it milk, or sleep or to be held. That is their way of communicating. But as they grow older, they start communicating their needs. When we become adults, we start giving commands. So also with our spiritual life. When we are new to the faith, we cry for everything, but as we grow, we must start articulating.
Some people think that crying is a sign of piety. Crying is not wrong and Jesus also cried. But He did not cry in front of men, He cried in the presence of the Father. In difficult situations and tough circumstances, He gave the command. He did not pray or cry but commanded. He did not pray to the Father to dry up the fig tree, but He gave the command.
Isaiah 49:11
I will turn all my mountains into roads, and my highways will be raised up.
God turns our mountains into level ground and broadens our way.
Isaiah 40:4
Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain.
Every mountain and hill will be made low and all that is lying low will be raised up. The rough places will be made level.
How will this be made level?
Isaiah 40:3
A voice of one calling: “In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
A voice of one calling. A voice. This is what makes it level. When this voice is heard, a path is made for the Lord.
Before Jesus came, John the Baptist, went ahead and preached repentance to the people. When the hills, mountains, stones and roughness was removed from people’s hearts, there was a level ground. It was at such a time that Jesus made His entry. The Gospels also speak about Isaiah 40:3. A voice is what is needed.
Isaiah 41:15
“See, I will make you into a threshing sledge, new and sharp, with many teeth. You will thresh the mountains and crush them, and reduce the hills to chaff.
Psalm 33:9
For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.
God gives His authority to His children. We are called to reign. When God speaks, if mountains move, so will it be when we speak. We are not called to set camp in front of the mountain and wait till God moves it. We are called to move forward. Make a level ground and move forward.
How do we do that?
Speak with your mouth, and command the mountains, the issues, the sickness to move. When you continue speaking, you will see the result. When you keep confessing, you will see level ground and you will be able to move forward.
