Prosperity Flows From Inside Out

Material prosperity is the blessing that people can see on the outside. However, there are more important aspects such as physical prosperity or health, and mental prosperity. The most important is spiritual prosperity which is the centre. The rest of our life should be a reflection of our spiritual life. It should always be inside out.

Matthew 6:28-33 teaches us about the importance of spiritual prosperity over everything else.  

Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Romans 8:32 also teaches us that if we get Jesus, we get everything; “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?”

Mark 2:1-12 tells us about a group of friends that took their paralysed friend to see Jesus in a packed house in Capernaum.
Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men. And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”

When Jesus saw the faith of his friends, Jesus decided to forgive the sick man’s sins. This person came for physical healing, so why did Jesus deal with his sin instead?
The Pharisees were angered and said Jesus was blaspheming as only God can forgive sins. They were critics even when there was a great healing.
Jesus knew what they were thinking and said:
“Why are you thinking these things? Which is easier: to say to this paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat and walk’?

Jesus knew that the root cause of this man’s illness was his sin. Jesus always starts with the spiritual side of things. This immediately reflected in the physical realm and the man was healed.

Our prosperity in all realms starts from the inside to outside.

John 5:2-15 shares a similar incident where a man who was bedridden for 38 years was healed by Jesus. The Pharisees were angered again as this was done on Sabbath day. The healed man went around telling people of his healing.

Verse 14: Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.”

Here too Jesus touches the sin problem which is the root cause of many problems.

Deuteronomy 28:1-2
If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God

The result of godly obedience is seen in Verse 11. The LORD will grant you abundant prosperity—in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground—in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you.

Another verse that states God’s desire to bless us abundantly.
Malachi 3:10
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.

When we keep God’s commands, granted it will reflect in all other areas of your life!
