I was Crucified with Christ

Many consider Adam and Christ as somebody who lived in the ancient times or as   some religious belief of Christians etc. But the first man, Adam and Christ, the last Adam has great relevance with our personal lives because we got our physical bodies from the first Adam and our spirit from the last Adam. 

Acts 17:26 And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings,

The human family branches out like a pyramid with Adam at the apex and therefore irrespective of which race, complexion, tribe or nation we belong to; all humans are related to one another. Similarly,  in Christ, another category began, for which Lord Jesus took two titles: the Last Adam and the Second Man.

Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”

Here, we see the very first prophecy and promise in the Bible. The offspring of the woman will crush the head of the serpent. This is a general prophecy and doesn’t specify when and through whom it will come into fulfilment. Though this was spoken to Eve, who was Mrs. Adam and the first one to sin; the prophecy in turn falls on Adam, who is the head of Eve and the entire human race and it involves two characters: the first Adam and the last Adam. 

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.

Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

The last Adam, who was born as the Offspring of a woman, accomplished the rectification process for the flaw, the fall and the sin that happened through the first Adam. God deals with people individually as well as corporately. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God - this includes the entire human family. So just as how the first Adam represents the entire human race that was born from him; Christ, the last Adam again represents each one of us in Him. The first Adam is sinful, whereas the last Adam has no sin. Lord Jesus was born into this world through Mary, the virgin and without a man’s involvement; but by God’s Word and the power of the Most High to crush the head of Satan!

The last Adam Himself bore all the sins and the sinful nature of the entire human race, right from the first Adam; and He stood before God’s presence representing us and endured the punishment and judgment that was due to us ; and through His death and resurrection, the last Adam reversed every damage, decay, sickness, sorrow - every effects that happened to the Earth, its inhabitants and nature through the first Adam. This is called the greatest substitutionary work.
 
1 John 2:2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
Jesus drank from the cup of God's wrath so that we may drink from the cup of salvation. 

2 Corinthians 5:14 For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.

On behalf of the entire humanity, Christ died and in God’s eyes it’s accounted that all died.
When Jesus was crucified, we too were crucified; when Jesus was buried, we too were buried and when Jesus rose from the dead, we too were made alive with Him. This is a one time act that happened 2000 years ago, but comes into effect in our personal lives only when we receive this revelation and believe it. In other words, the Cross terminates the old (first) creation and in the spirit, the person becomes a new creation.

Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Paul who says that he’s been crucified with Christ was a Pharisee, who was known as Saul and didn’t believe the teachings of Jesus. He was nowhere around in Golgotha during the crucifixion of Jesus and it was two thieves who were crucified with Jesus in three distinct crosses; but Paul says that he was crucified along with Christ in the very same cross in AD 30.  Spiritually speaking, God sees us all crucified with Christ back in AD 30 when Jesus was crucified.
