Serve The Real God
We can follow these steps to experience blessings in our life:
Serve the real God
Many people follow the wrong gods very sincerely and genuinely. But the truth is that there is only one God. There are millions of false gods and you can get them anywhere. From idols, to concepts, to animal gods, there is no shortage of gods here. But we must follow and serve the only one true God.
Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other.You cannot serve both God and money”
It is not possible to serve two masters. We cannot serve both God and money. Money is also referred to as “Mammon” which in aramaic means ‘ Money god”. From ancient days, people believed that these gods have a certain power and when they are called upon, they will receive something from them accordingly. Even today, they believe that for different departments, there are different gods. From ages ago, people would believe in a god of the rain, a god of the winds, etc. Some people believe in different gods for the healing of different diseases.
However, there is only one God and he is all knowing and all powerful and above all things. Is this the God you serve?
Even if you call out “Jesus, Jesus”, who is it that you really serve? Who is your God ? One person can have only one master. That is how God has designed us.
Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.”
There are many who are confused as to which god they should please. But we must serve the real God. As Paul said in 2 Timothy 1.12; “I know whom I have believed”. We have great peace when we find out who the real God is and serve only Him.
If we are serving Jesus, it should only be Him. Nothing else should take His place. Money competes with God to make even believers its slave. They give more importance to money as they tend to believe that without money we cannot live on earth. Money is something that we all tend to greed for and prioritise over God. But we cannot serve both together. Money can make man its slave. Greed for money can lead us to traps. But the real God is one who blesses. He blesses abundantly and he blesses up to generations.
Satan tried tempting Jesus by offering Him the riches of the world. But Jesus showed that we must only serve God!
Matthew 4:9 “All this I will give you," he said, "if you will bow down and worship me." Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: `Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'”
We must also choose to serve God and serve Him only! God should be over us and money under our feet.
