Blessings of the Father
Jesus is known as the visible God who revealed the invisible Father. At the start of Jesus’ ministry, He declared 8 blessings during His sermon on the Mount, which we know as ‘the Beatitudes’. He later declared blessings on those who wouldn’t falter in their faith in Christ.
Matthew 16:17 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.
God the Father is the One who gives us the revelation about Christ. And for the same reason, Apostle Paul prays for the spirit of wisdom and revelation for the believers, and for the eyes of their heart to be enlightened.
Paul resolved to know nothing except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. (1 Corinthians 2:2) He wasn’t interested in anything else.
2 Corinthians 11:2 I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him.
A woman who is engaged would think of no other man except her fiance. And we all need to grow to that experience where all that matters to us is Christ and Christ alone.
It's a blessing to have a revelation from Abba Father about Christ.
Matthew 25:34 - 36 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
This is a great mystery. Jesus tells those who have been blessed by the Father to take the kingdom of God that was prepared since the creation of the world as their inheritance. There lies a huge blessing when we help/serve the needy with an attitude of doing it for the Lord and we receive the kingdom of God as a great inheritance.
While all countries/ kingdoms here on Earth experience a rise/ fall, witness several changes politically and economically; there’s only one Kingdom that won’t be shaken - the Kingdom of God. And this Kingdom is for those who’ve been blessed by the Father, for those who minister in the Name of the Lord and reach out to the needy/ the poor/ the sick/ the prisoners. The king in this context refers to Jesus and Abba Father is the One who prepares the Kingdom and gives it to His people.
Mark 10:16 And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.
A special ministry that Jesus did was to bless the little children. Many parents brought their little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus told His disciples to let those little children come to Him and He blessed them. Those children would have been blessed with great wisdom, beautiful skills and some of them may have even attained high government positions because it was Jesus who touched and blessed them, and that surely changed the course of their lives.
God is a God of generations and if your children have an encounter/ experience a touch from Lord Jesus, their entire life will be blessed. Encourage them to listen and memorize the Word of God, to value God’s presence and their time with God above everything else. 80% of children born to Christian families live an obstinate life and aren’t bothered about God as they enter college/university because they lack an intimate relationship with God.
Proverbs 22:6 Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
It's crucial that our children be grounded in the Word and be filled with the Holy Spirit so that they journey through God’s track in every phase of life.
Luke 1:45 Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!”
Jesus’ mother, Mary, was blessed because she believed that the Lord will fulfill HIs promises to her. The Word of God is filled with promises for each and every child of God and when you believe that you will see/ experience the fulfillment of His promises in your life, there is a blessing in it.
Whenever I receive a blessing from the Word of God/ through a prophecy, I write them down, confess it while praying alone/ fasting, I ponder over it, visualize how it will be when the promise is fulfilled and firmly believe that the promise will be fulfilled even if there’s a delay.
God promised Abraham and made him visualize that his descendants will be as numerous as the stars in the sky. God activated Abraham’s imagination and so he believed and was blessed.
Recollect the promises you’ve received from the Lord - about you, your spouse, your children, your ministry, your future and as you believe that they will be fulfilled, I pray that Abba releases His blessing upon your life. Amen!
