Unbelief Will Be Punished

Some of us may feel like our life just keeps moving forward without any significant changes that we feel or that may be noticeable to anyone. This makes us feel that we will just move on for the mere sake of moving.  Zechariah's life is one such example.  

Zechariah was an old priest serving in the temple. He had no children but he was a praying person. He might have always prayed for the Messiah of Israel to be born to the lands prophesied and hoped to see the Savior Jesus Christ before his departure.  

One day while he was going about his high priestly duties in the temple the angel Gabriel appeared to him and said he and his wife will have a son and they will name him John.

Zechariah was in unbelief.  He was an old man and his wife Elizabeth had passed the child bearing age and there was no possibility that she would conceive.
God knew he would be of unbelief so he silenced Zechariah.  
This shows us that God can intervene no matter how impossible our situation is. He can change any situation.

Luke 1:19-20
The angel said to him, “I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news. And now you will be silent and not able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true at their appointed time.”

Always trust God's word and have faith in him. Never be unbelieving because negativity spreads fast. Always spread the good news. In this world everywhere there is a portal to get negativity like news and newspapers but always tend to fill with positive thoughts and the Word of God.

Romans 14:24
Now to him who is able to establish you according to my Good News and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret through long ages.

Everything that doesn't come from faith is sin. Words that do not come from faith are sin. Acts that are not from faith are sin. In other words, anything that does not originate from faith is sin.

Always remember Jesus when he died on the cross of calvary he also died for the unbelief that could get to us. Even though Zechariah was a priest he still had unbelief but Elizabeth believed God and she accepted it and became pregnant but she was ashamed to face others as she was old and to be pregnant at this age.  Nearly five months Elizabeth did not reveal her pregnancy to anyone. Although she believed, her shame took over.
God will act miraculously in the most unexpected time.  

Angel Gabriel also appeared to Mariam, a very humble person.  In that era there were many virgins praying as they all wanted the prophesied Messiah to be born in time yet God chose the most humble person like Mariam.

The more we lower ourselves in the kingdom of God with utmost humility then we will be raised more and lifted high in His abounding grace.  Humility is the most necessary virtue. Whenever we humble ourselves we will be raised in due time according to God's time, most unexpectedly and miraculously.
