Uplifting Love
2 Corinthians 5:14
For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.
Giving ourselves for others is only possible with the love of Christ.
2 Timothy 3:1-7
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. 6 They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, 7 always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth.
In the end times, people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, and proud.
Matthew 22:37
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
We mustn’t be self centered where everything is only about us though we must love ourselves. Jesus taught us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. If we don’t love ourselves, it leads to self hatred and suicide.
In Acts 20, Apostle Paul tells the people that he did not keep anything from them. Whatever is useful and revealed by the Lord, Paul revealed it to the people.
John 15:15
I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
Jesus took in the disciples who were ordinary men and revealed to them the secrets of the Father and raised them up to be lovers of Almighty God. This is called selfless love, which raises up other people. This love starts from the heavenly Father.
Mortal man made of dust and dwells on earth, God raised him up to sit with Him in the third heavens. Sin made us God’s enemies and yet God took us enemies and washed us white as snow with the blood of His only begotten Son.
The base of Christian ministry is love.
Matthew 14:14
When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.
Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
He does not change. He is compassionate and loving even today as He was in His days on the earth. This Christlike love and compassion is the foundation of ministry. We can count on and trust on such a person who never changes.
Matthew 14:13-14
When Jesus heard what had happened, he withdrew by boat privately to a solitary place. Hearing of this, the crowds followed him on foot from the towns. 14 When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.
Jesus went to a solitary place to be by Himself but the people followed Him and Jesus had compassion on them and healed their sick.
Before Apostle John ends the Gospel of John, he says that if every miracle performed by Jesus were to be written down, the books of the world would not be able to contain it.
When the prodigal son left the father’s house, his supply stopped but when he returned to the father, it was all restored to him. To receive provisions from the Father, check your connection with Him and where it was that the supply line was interrupted. The best way to start is with thanksgiving.
Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Give thanks to God always, at all times and then His peace which surpasses all understanding will fill you.
In 1 Samuel 1, we see Hannah being downcast and taking it to the Lord in prayer. But once she finished praying, the peace of God filled her and her countenance was lifted.
How do you know if your prayer has been answered? You may not see the answer to your prayers but when you feel the peace of God flooding your heart, you know that God has heard your prayer.
