Mistakes to Miracles
This is the time of God’s favour and grace. But many may wonder how God has granted it to be a time of favour upon all mankind on Earth when the world is so corrupted and vexatious. We see LGBT, same-sex marriages, genocides and satanic worship happening in this world and we’d think how could God be pleased with all this.
Luke 17:26-29
“Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all. “It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.
Jesus Himself became an object of wrath and absorbed the Father’s wrath against our sin and satisfied it in full, so that “whoever believes in him should not perish” but instead enjoy the Father’s favour forever.
Matthew 27:51
At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split
Mark 15:33
At noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon.
Even the whole of nature cried out seeing the Creator of the Universe suffering on the Cross. Jesus, on our behalf, endured the hellish atmosphere while on the Cross. Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega; and anything by infinity is infinity. And God the Father counts the atoning sacrifice of His beloved Son adequate to set free those who believe in Jesus from all condemnation. And that’s why this era is considered to be the time of favour, although God has set a day after Jesus’ second coming to judge those who reject the free gift of salvation.
Matthew 16:16-17
Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah! For this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by My Father in heaven.
Matthew 16:22-23
Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him. “Far be it from You, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to You!” But Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me. For you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.”
We see here that Peter, in no time, switched from God’s revelation to that of the devil. And this Peter itself was the one who denied Jesus three times.
Luke 22:48-51
but Jesus asked him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?” When Jesus’ followers saw what was going to happen, they said, “Lord, should we strike with our swords?” And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear. But Jesus answered, “No more of this!” And he touched the man’s ear and healed him.
Peter struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear (John 18:10). But Jesus touched the man’s ear and healed him. This is known as the Pre-calvary miracle. Had Jesus not restored that person’s ear, Peter would have lost his life even before Jesus died, because he attacked the servant of the high priest in front of many people. However, Jesus converted that mistake into a miracle.
You too may be a person who has experienced God’s miracle in the midst of your flaws and seen God’s restoration in your life. Or if you’re someone regretting your past mistakes (may not be intentional), I encourage you today to give your mistakes to Jesus who can convert it into a miracle. The above incident that’s been recorded in the Bible is proof that Jesus can fix your mistakes.
Matthew 26:53-54
Are you not aware that I can call on My Father, and He will at once put at My disposal more than twelve legions of angels? But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen this way?”
They’d just got over with the Passover where Jesus said that the bread and the wine represented His body and blood respectively. Jesus’ time had come to lay down His life as a sacrifice. Jesus strictly warned, “No more of this”. We should be careful not to repeat a mistake. God can convert our mistakes to miracles, but that doesn’t permit us to repeat those flaws.
Proverbs 26:11
As a dog returns to its vomit, so fools repeat their folly.
You may be a person delivered by God from wrong friendships/screen addictions/substance addictions/bad relationships, etc. But you should be on your guard to never return to such things. God took care of your present issues and now Jesus says, ‘No more of this!’ A wise person learns from others’ mistakes. However, if you think you've been mistaken in some area of your life, boldly give it to Jesus who can convert it into a miracle.
