The Applied Word Of God - Part 17
Our spiritual heart must be stored with the Word of God. There is a lot of storage space in our heart and we must give first priority to the creator of Heaven and earth and enthrone Him instead of polluting it with worldly things.
Proverbs 4:4-5 “Then he taught me, and he said to me, “Take hold of my words with all your heart; keep my commands, and you will live. Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or turn away from them.”
We all have a spiritual heart and it must be filled with the Word of God. We should not forget His words or live with a distance from them.
The Word of God should become a daily necessity for us in a way that we can’t go forward without it!
Matthew 4:4 “Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
After Jesus fasted for forty days, the devil came to tempt Him. When the devil asked him to turn the stone into bread and eat, this was Jesus’ response. Of course, Jesus could have turned stones into bread if He wanted to, but it was not something to do because the devil asked Him to do. Jesus spoke what was written in Deuteronomy 8.3. Physical bread can sustain us physically but it is the Word of God that sustains our soul and spirit.
Here, we see that no matter what we eat or do, what really sustains our life daily is the Word of God.
Hebrews 1:1-3 “In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways,2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. 3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins,he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.”
It is the Word of God that comes from the mouth of God that sustains all things!
Romans 10:17 “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message,(A) and the message is heard through the word about Christ.”
It is the Word of God that creates faith in us. Testimonies encourage faith.
Romans 1:17 “For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed —a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.””
To live by faith, we must first hear the Word of God.
Everyday we go through many situations. For example, you get a great job with a great package. After sometime in the job is when you realise that your boss is very inconsiderate and it begins to affect your work and also your personal life. We tend to be stressed by work pressure. How do you sustain your life then? If you know the Word of God, you will be able to stand; His Word will sustain you as it is your foundation! God’s righteous must live by faith.
How do we ensure this? We must keep storing our hearts with the Word of God by reading and meditating the Word. Everything else must have a temporary stay in our hearts but His Word should reside in us always. This Word will create faith in us and through constant interaction with the Word, we will live a victorious life.
