There Is No Condemnation For You
1.Our past is buried in Christ
2 Corinthians 5.17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
Romans 6.4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
The old sinful nature died with Christ and the past life of every child of God is buried in Christ. We must know this fact. Satan will try many a time to bring up our past and persecute us mentally. He will accuse us of our past sins and tell us that it is not forgiven. What we should do is to tell him what his future will be. Satan’s future is clearly written in Revelation 20. He is already deemed for damnation.
2.Our present is hidden in Christ Jesus
Colossians 3.3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
Paul is looking at living people and saying “You are dead”. Our past is dead and our present life is hidden in Christ. It means that our new life is not fully revealed to those who are not born again. A believer’s life is concealed in Christ and the difference in his life in comparison with an unbeliever cannot be understood physically. It will be revealed one day in Christ.
3.Our future will be revealed in Christ
1 John 3.1,2 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
God has prepared a blessed future for every one of His children who have been saved. It will be hidden till Jesus comes again.
We should overcome the fears of the future and death from our heart.
Psalm 33.15 Our times are in God’s hands.
When we look into our future, we have scope to be happy.
Isaiah 60.2 See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you.
At the same time two things are happening: there is darkness over people while for God’s children it is light.
Only the saved children who do not question his Creator have a future. Many fear a future judgement but for those who are in Christ Jesus, there is a judgement but no condemnation.
Hebrews 9.27 Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgement, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
In a competition, a judge chooses the ones who do the best to offer them rewards. He doesn’t punish those who do not win a prize. For the children of God, the Judge gives rewards to good works. A criminal is judged and condemned to death.
